NAIFA New Member Spotlight: Beth McKinley
For NAIFA member Beth McKinley, the thought of helping people live generously and encouraging women in finance to feel confident are the two main components that spark joy in her professional life. Due to her passion for helping and empowering others, she decided to make a career shift to the financial services industry. After 15 years as a donor advisor in various nonprofit organizations, Beth joined Thrivent Financial as a financial professionalin September 2018. In April 2019, Beth decided to broaden her exposure to all things financial by becoming a member of the NAIFA family.
The catalyst which propelled Beth to join NAIFA was its code of ethics. She has always prioritized her donors being put first and supports high standards of integrity, trust, and professionalism throughout her career as a financial professional. During her NAIFA journey, Beth is eager to connect with others who are early on in their career, in addition to those who have switched career fields to the financial industry. She has already gained a wealth of knowledge from NAIFA and looks forward to the endless possibilities which surround her NAIFA experience.
Beth’s philanthropic mindset is present in her career and her personal life as she is an active volunteer at her church, the local food pantry, Project Share and YWCA Carlisle. In addition to NAIFA, she is also an active member of WIFS (NAIFA sister association), AAUW, Carlisle Chamber, and Keystone Business Alliance. She hopes to earn her CAP and ADPA designations early during her tenure with Thrivent. NAIFA will be there for every step of the way throughout her endeavors in the financial industry.
Beth encourages potential NAIFA members to go to a workshop or local event and talk to current members about what they have gained from the organization. Beth is a valuable leader in our industry and we cannot wait to see how she continues to make us #NAIFAproud.
